Gwenn Lei, Ed. D (she/hers) joined the San Mateo County Office in 2016. Gwenn is a former teacher, District English Learner Coordinator, and Director of the California Reading and Literature Project at UC Berkeley. She brings a wide range of knowledge in literacy and English learners to support districts in San Mateo County. Gwenn served on the development teams for three major curriculum handbooks, Results for Academic Language & Literacy, Content Area Language and Literacy and Results: Word Recognition and Fluency, Assessment, Instruction, and Intervention. At SMCOE, Gwenn leads the Curriculum & Instruction Services team which focuses on aligning teaching & learning to culturally responsive & relevant instruction.
