About me
Rose Lock has been the ACSA Region 6 Executive Director and Consultant since 2015. She retired as Assistant Superintendent in Educational Services from Mt. Diablo USD in 2015 after she served 25 years as a vice principal, principal and assistant superintendent.
Rose started her educational career as a math student teacher in Oakland USD. After receiving her credential from UC Berkeley, she was hired as a math teacher in a diverse district in Sacramento County with one of the lowest SES in the state. These early experiences shaped her commitment to underserved student populations. The schools and districts she served during her 41-year career did not generally have AAPI staffs. Most of the time she was the only Asian face in her schools or one of very few in her districts.
In her retirement and having been involved in the recently formed California Association of Asian & Pacifika Leaders in Education (CAAPLE), Rose has rededicated her commitment to elevating AAPI leaders in our schools and districts. She passionately believes that "Representation Matters" especially with the growing AAPI student populations in California.
