About me
With a laser focus on educational justice, Dr. Heather Harris brings over 25 years of innovation and leadership to the education field. She has a deep-rooted passion for engaging families and supporting educators—who are a child's second family—as a vehicle to breaking down historical barriers for children through prevention as a precursor to intervention. In 2015, she led the successful expansion to Universal Preschool for a Southern California School District, which established a continuum of learning that yielded a 93% high school graduation rate, and 95% of early education staff completing their bachelors. The programs she’s institutionalized have been studied and replicated at national levels, and she is a recognized voice in education for her advocacy to make quality education a civil right and to sever multi-generational cycles of poverty through these educational opportunities.
She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California Riverside. She has a master's in psychology with a Specialization in Early Childhood, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership: Teacher Education in Multicultural Societies from the University of Southern California.
