About me
Dr. Soraya Sablo Sutton is the Program Director of the Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) at UC Berkeley. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Education in the division of Language, Literacy, and Culture in 2003. A central focus of Dr. Sablo Sutton's research is social justice leadership preparation, leadership coaching and leader sustainability. In addition to teaching courses in instructional supervision and leadership development, Dr. Sablo Sutton supports the design and research of affinity groups for African American, Latinx, Asian Pacific Islander and White Anti-racist leaders across the 21CLSA Bay Area Regional Academy in Northern California.
Prior to joining the Principal Leadership Institute, Dr. Sablo Sutton worked in San Leandro Unified School District and Oakland Unified School District as a teacher, instructional coach, and elementary principal for over a decade.
