About me
Wesley Tang has over 30 years of education experience in diverse roles, primarily in urban school settings. He has served as a teacher, literacy coach, instructional reform facilitator, site administrator, and district office leader, each providing unique insights and reinforcing his deep commitment to improving student outcomes, particularly for those marginalized within the educational system.
In 2023, Wesley Tang completed his East Carolina University (ECU) doctoral program. His participant action research, "Equity Warriors: Building Principal Capacity to Enact Culturally Responsive Leadership," is a testament to his unwavering dedication to equity and social justice. He firmly believes in the transformative influence of culturally responsive leadership, which ignites hope and optimism in his mission to empower others to serve all students effectively. This commitment to equity and social justice is a strong foundation that reassures and instills confidence in his work.
As the Leadership Coaching Coordinator for the 21CSLA Bay Area Regional Academy (BARA), Dr. Tang supports accomplished sitting and former school leaders who serve as coaches in our leadership programs. These coaches are critical in guiding and impacting new and practicing school leaders as they embark on their leadership journeys. The work is deeply rooted in equity and social justice, aligning with the institution's equity statement: "Leaders for equity transform education to improve access, opportunity, and inclusion for students and adults, especially those who are systemically marginalized and historically underserved, so that they can thrive."
Wesley Tang is also a co-facilitator in the Asian American Pacific Islander Leadership Network (AAPILN) for the 21CSLA BARA. He is deeply committed to advancing the mission of creating equitable educational outcomes for underserved students by furthering the educational leadership development of leaders, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) leaders.
